Zepto Product Personalizer is the established, lower-cost option builder for Shopify: 22 option types, conditional logic and add-on pricing, from US$9.99 a month. Kastomise is built for print production instead: a live preview on your real print area, a CMYK PDF for every print area of every order, an optional 3D view, and a hosted page that works beyond Shopify, priced by products rather than orders.

The differences that decide it

Print files built for production

Kastomise produces a CMYK PDF for each print area, with an embedded colour profile, at the resolution you set per product (72–600 PPI). Zepto gives a PNG preview and an optional PDF, vector PDF or SVG; its docs don’t mention CMYK or a resolution setting.

Options and add-on pricing: Zepto’s strength

Zepto has 22 option types, show-and-hide rules, and extra charges per option or per letter. Kastomise has none of these: shoppers choose between the customisation types you set up, and you charge for personalisation through a Shopify variant.

How much freedom shoppers get

Zepto lets shoppers pick fonts, curve text and add effects. Kastomise keeps the design on brand: you choose the font, shoppers choose the text, its colour and alignment, and place their photos in the layouts you allow.

Print areas of any shape

Kastomise previews the real print area, in any shape, with cutouts and fixed items such as a medal or ribbon shown so shoppers design around them. Zepto supports several views per product, each sized and placed in percentages on the product image, with a pattern option that can act as a mask.

3D, and selling beyond Shopify

On Pro, Kastomise shows the finished design on a 3D model of your product, with a colour picker for each area. Its hosted page works with any store or marketplace. Zepto doesn’t mention 3D and works with Shopify only.

Priced by products, not orders

Zepto’s plans are capped by personalised orders a month until its Unlimited plan. Kastomise plans are priced by the number of product configs, with no order cap and no per-order fee.

Pricing compared

Zepto’s Shopify App Store listing has four plans, from US$9.99 to US$69.99 a month, each capped by personalised orders a month (100, 200 and 500, then unlimited), all with a 15-day free trial. Its own homepage shows a slightly different set of plans, so check the listing before you install. Kastomise is free for one product config, then starts at A$69 a month (US$50 through Shopify) for 5 product configs, with no cap on orders and no per-order fees. Above 500 personalised orders a month, Zepto’s Unlimited plan is US$69.99, while Kastomise Core is US$50 through Shopify for up to 5 product configs. At low order volumes, or if you need 3D or many product configs, Kastomise costs more.

Kastomise vs ZeptoQuestions merchants ask.

Short answers about switching from or choosing between Kastomise and Zepto.

Is Kastomise a good alternative to Zepto Product Personalizer?

It is if print production matters most: you get a live preview on the real print area, a CMYK PDF for every print area of every order, an optional 3D view, and a hosted page for stores outside Shopify. If you rely on Zepto’s conditional logic, add-on pricing or shopper font choice, Kastomise doesn’t replace those.

Does Zepto charge per order?

Zepto doesn’t list a per-order fee, but its plans cap personalised orders a month: 100, 200 and 500, then unlimited on the US$69.99 plan, according to its Shopify App Store listing. Kastomise doesn’t cap orders or charge per order; its plans are priced by the number of product configs.

Which gives better print files, Kastomise or Zepto?

For print shops, Kastomise: every order comes with a CMYK PDF for each print area, with an embedded colour profile, at the resolution you set. Zepto offers a PNG preview and optional PDF, vector PDF or SVG files, which suits vector work; its documentation doesn’t mention CMYK or resolution settings.

Does Zepto Product Personalizer support 3D or other platforms?

Its website and App Store listing don’t mention 3D, and its homepage says it works only with Shopify stores. Kastomise offers a 3D view on its Pro and Studio plans, and a hosted page for WooCommerce, Etsy, Wix, BigCommerce and other stores.
